Acai which is locally pronounced as "ah-sigh-ee" is one of the most important and popular fruits in the world that have medicinal properties. Acai is a small fruit of peas. It is an Amazonian palm tree with a great historical background of conventional treatment of obesity and increasing weight of the body in Brazil. So the acai berry diet is being used since ancient times that suggest the efficacy and benefits of this berry.

Dr. Perricone was the first man who discovered the medicinal properties of acai berry. After finding the medicinal properties in this berry he started to work on the uses of these properties and finally he found the acai berry diet could be helpful against the obesity related problems.

After the discovery made by Dr. Perricone the berry was considered the number one antioxidant food for the people who want to lose the weight. The demonstration of the benefits of acai berry was shown to the people on the Oprah show. Later on Oprah she presented as a user of this berry. She clamed that she use the berry with her diets regularly. After this claim the popularity of the berry increased to touch the heights of skies.

The Dr. Perricone and Oprah made the tremendous changes in this diet to make it useful and curative against the obesity. However, the people who just want to shape their bodies can use this diet as a regular diet by mixing in other foods the use daily.

There is an important fact that should be in your mind while using the diet. Some websites are endorsing the acai berry diet as a new diet plan by Oprah but this claim is actually a marketing gizmo used to magnetize the people to buy the acai berry supplements. However, the claim is not connected to any particular diet plan offered by her.
