Stress and Herbal Supplments

by Brandon Gilbert

So in this article we're going to find out more about Reishi Mushroom, which is probably the biggest herb in the world. And why I say that, why I make that claim, is this herb is the most scientifically researched of any herb ever known, ever studied. On top of that, it is one of the most respected, if not the most respected, herb of all of ancient China. And naturally that herb is none other than reishi mushroom. Again, it's one of my favourite herbs and an herb that I've worked with a bit over the last eight or so years. It is one herb that I've gotten a lot of actually solid feedback about and I've heard just a large amount of great success stories.

Fundamentally when we stress, that kicks on our fight-or-flight reply. And our fight-or-flight reply is really a feedback loops between our adrenals, hypothalamus and our pituitary. So we get stressed, our adrenals do their thing and secrete their hormones, and there's this complete feedback loop which occurs. So basically what adaptagens do is they number one, they improve our body's ability to handle stress and acclimatize to stress. So they make the effect of stress less damaging and less harmful on the body. Then over the course of time they make that feedback loop much shorter. While concurrently increasing our ability to handle stress.

And skyrocketing the stimulus that it would probably take or need for us to actually feel stresses. And just as a personal example, private story, might have heard me talk about this before, you may not, so I'll share with you now. There was a time in my early twenties where whenever I would get stressed or concerned, I'd just get this discomfort in my lumbar region and this tingling sensation up my backbone and in the back of my head, and then I am getting kind of light headed and feel just pretty terrible to put it lightly.

Little do I know and little did I understand at that time, that was actually stress. That was my body leaking adrenaline, that was my body going into fight-or-flight. So what I learned and how I understood that's over a period I began taking reishi, I began to take cordyceps, I started taking astragalus and I realized whoa, that is not truly going down as much, that's not really going down as frequently. I am in a position to do more, I'm really in a position to go out and do more and be more and have more and handle more, because my nerves are getting stronger, that feedback loop is getting stronger and it's getting better and more effective.

And now, I truthfully can't tell you the last time I felt that sensation, because thru taking the adaptagens and also exercise and diet and these other things have just gotten to a place where that stress doesn't affect me in the same way.
